On one corner of a quiet residential area in Osaka is ‘J&F House Osaka’. This is Kansai’s biggest sharehouse that has housemates from 25 different countries, living happily under one roof. The best part of this house by far is the shared living room with it’s feel of wooden warmth. This space, surrounded by wood, with it’s wooden table, chairs and wooden bench, is a healer, but is also fashionable, and is the ultimate place for the housemates to leisurely hang out. You can surf the internet on the computer that’s available, or you could always watch DVD’s or Skapa- on the giant TV. Of course, there are lots of chairs so you can just enjoy hanging out with your housemates that are from various countries. For women who are worried about the whole sharehouse situation, there are no worries since there is a ladies only floor and a ladies only bathroom available. The entrance to the house is auto-locking so that’s reassuring as well. There are the one-person individual rooms along with the 20000 yen (common area charges separate) dormitory rooms available. Of course, the individual rooms are equipped with the bare essentials such as an air conditioner, lights, fridge, and a desk so you can start your new life right away. Further, there is a washing machine, dryer, microwave and vacuum cleaner to share, so there’s no need to buy those. It’s a 6 minute walk to the closest municipal subway Kire-Uriwari Station on the Tanimachi Line. You can get to Namba or Shinsaibashi in about 30 minutes without having to transfer. It’s really attractive being that, from the house, a supermarket and convenience store are about a 1-3 minute walk, you’ll easily be able to get your daily shopping done.
